Last Friday, March 27, 2020, Msgr Jodoin participated in a conference call with the bishops of the Atlantic provinces, here is what they decided:

As of today, March 30, 2020, churches in the Atlantic provinces will be closed.

With Holy Week approaching, gatherings will naturally become more numerous in churches and control will not be able to be done adequately.

In order to continue to meet preventive government health standards, we must regretfully take this step.

As a preventative measure due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) and with the recent health directives taken by the New Brunswick government limiting public assemblies, the Diocese of Bathurst has decided to close the Diocese Retreat Center temporarily and this, until further notice.
