Saturday, November 2nd, 2019, the CWLs organized a “Tea Party” in the basement of the Cathedral. The event was a great success and all moneys collected will goes towards their charitable works. Congratulations to the organizers.
 
Sunday, November 3rd, 2019, Msgr Jodoin presided the closing mass of the community church Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes in Atholville. The communities of Notre-Dame-des-Neiges in Campbellton and Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur in Val D’Amours have welcomed the parishioners from the Atholville community.

Since October, Father Gérald Boudreau has taken up residence at the Manoir du Nord in Tracadie. We wish him well-deserved rest.

From Bathurst to Nigeria
The Sons of Mary Mother of Mercy and the Daughters of Mary Mother of Mercy congregations organized a Eucharistic celebration in Nigeria as a mark of sympathy for the loss of the two sisters from the Jésus-Marie congregation. The celebration will take place each year, in memory and in communion with us. You can see photos on the Diocese website: www.diocesebathurst.com

Liturgical Preparation Session for Advent and Christmas 2019-20 (in French)
The French Diocesan Liturgical Service (SDL) invites the members of Liturgy committees, as well as anyone involved with Liturgy within our Christian Communities, to a meeting to embark on the road towards Advent and Christmas.

  • Friday, November 8th at 7pm at the Notre-Dame-des-Neiges church in Campbellton;
  • Sunday, November 10th at 2:30pm at the Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila church in Robertville;
  • and Sunday, November 10th at 7pm in the Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens church in Pont-Landry.

On top of presenting the themes for Advent and Christmas, the general songs and the particular actions and visuals, we will also share some Liturgical news.
  
 
Preparation for Advent (in French) – As to better prepare for the new Liturgical year and to bring an added spiritual dimension to our Christmas holiday, Father Serge Comeau will hold two faith education session for all adults who are interested in learning more about (1) the Liturgical year (2) The Gospel of Matthew and (3) the spirituality of Advent.
 
This time of teaching and sharing will be held on Wednesday, November 20th at 6:30pm at the St. Joseph’s center in Tracadie (with the associates of the r.h.s.j.); and again on Thursday, November 28th at 1:30pm at the community hall of the Shippagan church (with the Saint-André parish). If you have a Bible (or a New Testament), you may bring it. Welcome all!
  
 
« Chanter et prier Marie (Sing and Pray Mary) » (in French) – An evening of song in honor of the Immaculate Conception, patron of the Christian Community of Pokemouche, in line with the 150th anniversary of the founding of the community. Come listen to meditations and some of the most beautiful religious songs about Our Lady. With Father Robert McGraw, Father Serge Comeau and Monique Arseneau, Sunday, December 8th at 1:30pm at the Pokemouche church. The next day will be held at 6:30pm, a Solemn Mass of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception presided by Father David Ferguson.
  
 
Two conferences will be given by Léon Robichaud, I.V.Dei, at the Shippagan church. The dates of the conferences are:

  • Sunday, November 17th at 2pm : “Traverser son deuil” (Pass through one’s grief)
  • Sunday, November 24th at 2pm : “Voir le mourir autrement” (To see dying differently)
