From the Bishop's Office
 
On Sunday, February 23rd, 2020 four people lived their decisif call at the a celebration presided by Bishp Daniel Jodoin at the Cathedral. This decisif call marks the beginning of their immediate preparation for the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and First Eucharist which their will celebrate at the next Easter Vigil celebrated a the Cathedral. Their names are:  Christabelle NGouGni Nkeutio, Émilie LeBouthillier, Henriette Sena Hangnanwey and Marc Brideau.  Let us unite our prayers with theirs.
 
Today, March 3rd, 2020, Father Jozef Humenansky of the Rogationists of the Heart of Jesus Congregation, superior of the Quasi province of Africa of Saint Joseph is presently in our Diocese. He is visiting in Saint-Léolin with the three priests who are under his responsibility. He will be in our Diocese from March 3rd to March 13th. 
 
Chrism Mass : Tuesday, April 7th, 2020
This important celebration will be held at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Bathurst on Tuesday, April 7th, 2020 at 7pm. The organisation of the Chrism Mass celebration has been confided to the parish Saint-Frère-André. The announcement for your parish bulletins will be available in the coming weeks. 
 
 
News of our priests
 
Tuesday, February 25th, 2020 a party was organised to celebrate the 50th priestly ordination of Father Jean-Gilles Haché. Several priest and friends got together at the Manoir Saint-Simon in St-Simon for the occation. Cake was shared and gilfts were offered... Father Jean-Gilles was surprised, happly and thankful of this delicate act of acknowledgement. 
 
Tuesday, February 25th, 2020, a fraternal Fat Tuesday supper was organised at the rectory in Caraquet. The priests of the Diocese as well as all the missionnaries working among us were invited. father Patrick McGraw, along with Father Régent Landry,  hosted this event in the name of the Office of the Clergy. It was a wonderful event appreciated by all. 
 
Friday, February 28th, 2020, the Good Shepherd Parish organised a beautiful birthday celebration for their pastor, Father Keith Goldrup. Father Goldrup was born of a February 29th and it si for this reason that the parishionners wished to celebrate him this year. The event took place at the Osprey Restaurant in Dalhousie (Eel River Bar). Bishop Jodoin and the employees for the Diocese Office also attended. 
 
Sunday, March 1st, 2020, Father Nicolas Thériault was honored during the "4e jour du R1  du mouvement la Flambée" (4th day of R1 of the Flambée group) which was held Sunday afternoon in the sacritie of the Inkerman church. The group took this time to commemorate Father Thériault's presence and pastoral devotion which he has shown the group for over 20 years. Congratulation Father Nicolas!

Guided Stations of the Cross (in French) :  Students of the NBCC in Bathurst will guide a Stations of the Cross every Friday of Lent at 3:30pm at  Sacred Heart Cathedral. Everyone is welcome to partake. 
 
SPAGHETTI SUPPER : Saturday, March 14th, 2020 from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, at the Famille Myriam–de-la-Paix, 1000 rue des Chalets, Sheila. Profits to help their mission for families. Tickets: 12$ for adults, 7$ for children 12 year and under. Musical entertainment and door prizes. Tickets are available at the Famille Myriam-de-la-Paix house (395-4455) and at the door. Welcome all ! 
 
DAY OF RESOURCING St. Joseph (in French) :  Thursday, March 19th from 9am to 9pm, at Famille Myriam-de-la-Paix, 1000 rue des Chalets, Sheila.  Theme : « Un regard de foi comme St. Joseph.» (A Faithful Regard like St. Joseph)  CEveryone brings their own luch, soup and drings are offered. Supper is included.  To register : 395-4455.
